The Throssell Range

I am a Geography teacher in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England - fascinated to learn more about the area that carries my name, the people that live there, how the range got its name, etc. Don't really know where to start so I would appreciate any help you are able to give. Many thanks. Ian Throssell Re: The Throssell Range

The Njangumarta are linked to the Throssell Ranges. Check the following three pages: Ngolibardu Nynagumarta Iparuka, also called Inland Nyangumarta Nyangumarta Kundal, also called Coastal Nyangumarta. George Throssell was the second premier of Western Australia (although there is some controversy about his formal appointment as premier) and was a large land owner in Northam (major WA wheatbelt town). He was also Minister for Lands for a while. I presume that the ranges (and also Lake Throssell - north east of Kalgoorlie) were named after him. Hope this helps in tracking things down.
